HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

Glendale Development is a multi-family property management company based in Buffalo, NY. Glendale is committed to providing the highest quality of management services and housing options in locations throughout Western New York, Rochester, and North Carolina. We are seeking a dynamic HR Manager to join our team, who enjoys operating in a fast-paced environment, is skilled in best practices and communicates professionally and effectively with all levels of an organization.

Job Requirements : The HR Manager is responsible for the organization’s Human Resources initiatives and developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the organization’s goals. The HR Manager will serve as the bridge between management and employees and be responsible for the delivery of HR services including recruitment, onboarding, employee retention/relations, employee initiatives and other general HR functions.

Duties/Responsibilities :

• Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; and training and development.

• Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applications for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

• Maintains accuracy and integrity of ATS and develops reports as necessary for EEO, AAP and other required purposes.

• Plan onboarding strategies to deliver an exceptional early experience for new hires.

• Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

• Assist in the development of personnel policies and procedures and maintain the employee handbooks.

• Manage leave and paid time off programs in the HR systems, such as PTO, PFL, FMLA, bereavement and other leaves of absence including workers compensation.

• Responsible for the maintenance of Incident Reports including OSHA 300 reporting.

• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and recent technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

• Maintain and manage the Company performance appraisal and salary administration practices and systems.

• Manage Company unemployment claims.

• Serve as benefit administrator, working closely with insurance brokers during Open Enrollment and throughout the year.

• Assists Senior Management in plan administration for Company 401K program and annual 5500 audit.

• Process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls.

Required Skills/Abilities :

• Experienced in ADP Workforce Now required.

• Experience in multi-state payroll preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Absolute discretion and confidentiality.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related degree; and minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience.

• PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.

Location:

In-person office setting.
